Dr.-Ing. Jochen Lorz
Head of Management
Jochen Lorz has been Managing Director of Core-Backbone GmbH since January 2025.
Born in Nuremberg, he completed his studies (diploma thesis at the VW engine plant in Salzgitter) and his doctorate in mechanical engineering at the Technical Faculty of the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg at the beginning of the millennium.
For the last five years, he worked as managing director at a family business in Erlangen, where he developed the new business area of CO2-neutral energy supply using data-driven models.
Before that, he worked for 14 years at an Erlangen energy company in various functions and regions (Germany, France, USA). He founded and was responsible for the industrial spin-off for battery storage and hydrogen technology within the group.
Jochen Lorz lives in his beloved hometown of Nuremberg and, together with his wife and daughters, enjoys our metropolitan region for sport, culture and society as well as the Franconian down-to-earthness.
