With France-IX as our partner, we have opened up the largest exchange node in France. More than 409 autonomous systems are connected to France-IX and the achieved traffic all-time high is 1.4 TBit/s.
The exchange node is located in Paris, which is the capital of the French Republic. With an area of 105 square kilometres, Paris is the most populus major city in Europe with 21,000 inhabitants per square kilometre. The capital is also the political, economic and cultural centre of France. Paris is France’s largest transport hub with three airports and several stations and termini.
CTO Simon Muyal from France-IX said in a statement: “Thanks to a great collaboration with France-IX, Core-Backbone has extended the coverage of its impressive European Network. Operations did benefit from a pleasing reactivity from both teams, allowing fast implementation of the service. Core-Backbone has made optimum use of the 100 G port right away as soon as delivered!”
